If you mean border enforcement, tougher trade policy, or not apologizing for ourselves on the world stage, say that. If you just mean you’re unhappy Trump won, then call it what it is.

Here’s the thing: threatening to move abroad isn’t a political argument. It’s a way to end the conversation while sounding dramatic. And it’s always the same people doing it, usually from the safest zip codes, usually after an election they didn’t like. Most Americans don’t get to “eye an exit” when politics annoy them. They still go to work, pay the bills, raise kids, and deal with whoever’s in office.

If Garfunkel wants to leave, he can. No one’s stopping him. But the rest of us would like to stay and fix what’s broken without being scolded for wanting a country that controls its borders and puts its own citizens first. America’s “position” is not a mood. It’s policy choices, and voters made them on purpose.

Celebrities didn’t talk about leaving when Washington shipped factories overseas, when big cities became unaffordable, or when communities got slammed by drugs and chaos. Now Trump comes in promising to reverse that, and suddenly they’re clutching their passports. If your commitment to the country depends on who wins an election, it wasn’t much of a commitment.
