Club for Growth: Democrats Risk Further Economic Decline for All

Club for Growth is out with a warning that Democrats will “worsen the economy for all,” and the funny part is that nobody needed a super PAC to tell them that. People feel it when groceries don’t go back down, when rent keeps creeping up, when a “good” jobs report still doesn’t cover the basics. But the real news here isn’t the slogan. It’s that Club for Growth is openly looking for angles in what it calls a tough environment for Republicans. That’s an admission, not an indictment.

If you’re a GOP-aligned group, you don’t get to just point at Bidenomics and hope voters do the math. Voters want receipts, not warnings. Which Democrat policy, which vote, which regulation, which tax idea is going to hit their paycheck next month? Spell it out. Put numbers on it. Name the industries and the towns. “It’ll get worse” is true in the abstract and useless in the booth.

The other problem is the word “all.” Democrats never worsen the economy for all at the same time. Their people always get carved out. Subsidies here, waivers there, sweetheart deals for the politically connected, and the bill lands on everyone else. The pain is broad, the perks are narrow. If Club for Growth wants an advantage, that’s the story to tell, because it matches what Americans already suspect.

And yes, it’s a “difficult environment” for Republicans right now, partly because the media covers politics like a sporting event and partly because too many Republican groups still talk like they’re writing a memo. We’d rather see fewer grand warnings and more clean, blunt contrasts: under Trump, energy was cheaper and the border was controlled; under Democrats, both got worse and families paid for it.
