The Yins aren't writing checks because they believe in "the vision." They’re investing. It’s the oldest game in town, but the Democrats play it with a straight face and a sermon about income inequality.

We’re supposed to believe this is all just grassroots enthusiasm. A family with that kind of cash doesn't worry about the price of gas or the rent. They don't need Newsom to fix the homelessness crisis; they just need him to keep the lights on in Sacramento so their business interests stay warm. That’s the uncomfortable truth the mainstream coverage tiptoes around. When you have money that talks this loudly, the campaign finance reports read less like a list of donations and more like a gold-plated protection plan.

The contrast with the average Republican donor couldn’t be starker. Not because we’re richer, but because our folks usually write checks for a candidate they believe in, not for a hedge against political winds. But that's the system the left built, and they're masters of it.
