Democrats Want Their Scalps

You have to hand it to them. Democrats never met an election loss they couldn’t turn into a fresh round of impeachment talk. The Washington assumption is that they’ll try to make Donald Trump the first president ever impeached three times, and honestly, that’s about the only thing that reliably gets their base to open their wallets. Impeachment is their whole playbook now. They couldn’t beat him in 2020, they couldn’t make the 2022 red wave materialize, so why not pull out the same gavel one more time?

The column notes Democrats will probably go after a member of the administration next. That’s the tell. They don’t have a candidate, they don’t have a message, and they certainly don’t have the votes for a real conviction. What they have is a list of scalps they’d love to hang on the wall.
