A guy who calls himself Sneako gets on a livestream, chants a terror slogan, and declares New York an Islamic republic under "Mamdani's New York," and within hours Elon Musk and Alex Jones are both saying deport him. That's not a normal news cycle. That's what happens when a fringe streamer decides the fastest way to get attention is to attach himself to the most polarizing mayoral figure in the country and say something so vile even people who agree on almost nothing can agree he needs to go.

Here's the part worth sitting with, though. Sneako is not a random crank nobody's heard of. He's built an audience doing exactly this kind of thing for years, and the platforms that host him keep letting it happen because outrage is the business model. Kick didn't cut his feed. Nobody moderated this in real time. It took a viral clip and two famous men publicly demanding consequences before anyone treated it like the problem it obviously was.

The Mamdani angle matters too, and not because Mamdani said any of this. He didn't. But when a candidate builds a coalition partly around identity politics and grievance, opportunists like Sneako will always show up to stretch it into something uglier, because that's where the clicks are. That's not an indictment of everyone who voted for the guy. It's a warning about what gets attached to a movement once it's associated with radical chic instead of plain competence.

None of that lets Sneako off the hook. Chanting terror slogans and declaring a city subject to religious conquest isn't edgy commentary, it's incitement dressed up as content. If Musk and Jones agree on nothing else, they're right that this deserves real consequences, not a temporary ban and a comeback tour in six months.
