GOP Senator Exposes Democrats' Secret Worries Behind Closed Doors

The funny thing about Washington “secrets” is how often they’re just said out loud once the cameras are on. Sen. John Barrasso says Democratic senators are privately admitting that the progressive wave led by Abdul El-Sayed and his allies is their future. If that’s true, it’s not exactly gossip. It’s a warning label. Democrats know where their own party is headed.

El-Sayed isn’t some random activist the media dug up for a quote. He’s part of a real faction that wants to drag the party further left on health care, energy, immigration, and the basic question of whether regular people should be allowed to live without being managed. When Democrats whisper that this is the direction, they’re also admitting they can’t stop it. Or won’t. The “moderates” are passengers now.

Republicans should take that seriously, not just as a talking point. If Democrats’ private fear is that they’re becoming the party of the activist class, then the public pitch will be the usual word salad about “equity” and “transformation,” with the bill handed to everyone else. We’ve seen how that movie ends: higher costs, weaker borders, and lectures for anyone who complains.

Barrasso is right to spotlight it, but the bigger point is what we do with it. Don’t just mock Democrats for being anxious behind closed doors. Make them own it in daylight. Ask them, plainly, whether El-Sayed’s agenda is the plan, and whether they’ll vote like it. If they won’t say no, that’s your answer..
