ICE Deports Illegal Alien Who Assaulted Virginia High Schooler

A 19-year-old adult man shows up as a “junior” at Fairfax High, and the story only gets worse from there. Israel Flores-Ortiz, in the country illegally, allegedly put his hands between girls’ legs and assaulted at least nine students. Nine. That is not a “bad decision” or a “misunderstanding.” A school is not supposed to be a hunting ground.

ICE sending him out of the country is the bare minimum, and it shouldn’t have taken a spring’s worth of headlines to get there. We keep hearing that immigration is some abstract policy fight, like it lives on cable news and nowhere else. But here it’s painfully local: hallways, classrooms, teenage girls who went to school and got violated. This is what “enforcement” looks like when it’s missing.

The question for Fairfax County is simple and it’s not partisan: how did a 19-year-old illegal alien end up enrolled as a minor, and who decided it was fine to place him around kids? If he assaulted “at least” nine girls, that word is doing a lot of ugly work. Were warnings ignored? Were complaints brushed off? Parents deserve straight answers, not the usual hush-hush routine that protects systems instead of students.

And yes, deporting him matters. It tells the next guy that America is not a free pass, and it tells victims their government can still act like a government. But deportation is the closing scene, not the whole movie. The real scandal is that it got to nine before it stopped..
