Mamdani allies hosting fundraiser for Dem Senate hopefuls James

There’s a certain kind of fundraiser that tells you everything about a political party. This one is hosted by allies of Zohran Mamdani, a man whose politics are a few steps left of the old Soviet Union. And one of the hosts has reportedly called America a “s—thole.” That’s not a joke. That’s the company the Democratic Party keeps in 2026.

They are raising money for Senate hopefuls James Talarico and Sherrod Brown. Not in spite of the anti-American talk. Because of it. For these donors, hating your own country is a resume line, not a disqualification. Mamdani himself has made unapologetic socialism his entire brand. The fact that mainstream Democrats are happy to take his allies’ money tells voters everything about where that party’s heart is.

The insult isn’t a gaffe. It’s a creed. When you call the greatest nation on earth a s—thole, you shouldn’t be surprised when ordinary Americans decide you don't belong anywhere near the Senate. Talarico and Brown want to sit in the world’s most deliberative body, yet they’re cozying up to people who sneer at the country they ask to represent. Republicans may have their flaws, but we aren’t the ones fundraising off contempt for the flag.

Voters should remember this when the ads start airing. The Democratic message is simple: send them to Washington so they can make America more like the place their donors imagine it to be. We’ll take a pass on that. And we suspect a whole lot of independents will, too.
