Marshall GOP primary challenger backs Democrat in Kansas Senate race

Arch Naramore says he has “always” been a Republican. Then he endorsed a Democrat for U.S. Senate. That’s not how it works. If he wants to call himself a Republican, fine, but his actions in this race tell the real story. He lost a primary to Roger Marshall earlier this year, and now he’s trying to take a swing at Marshall from the outside. The only person who benefits is Adam Hamilton, the Democrat hoping to sneak into a seat Kansans gave to a conservative.

Grievance makes people do strange things. Naramore’s video sounds less like a policy disagreement and more like a grudge. He didn’t suddenly discover that Hamilton agrees with him on the issues. He just wants to punish Marshall for winning. That’s a temper tantrum dressed up as principle. In a close race, this kind of stunt matters. Democrats are happy to accept help from any Republican willing to burn the party down to feel better about losing.

Roger Marshall is not a perfect senator, and we don’t expect every conservative to agree with him on everything. But primaries are where you make that case. You don’t get to lose and then hand the seat to the other side. This is exactly how the left wins elections they have no business winning. A primary loss is not a mandate to sabotage. Naramore should be asking himself whether he wants Kansas represented by a Republican who will fight the Biden agenda or by a Democrat who will rubber-stamp it.

At the end of the day, voters see this for what it is. Endorsing a Democrat says more about Naramore’s ego than his conscience. He can call himself a Republican all he wants. His choice says otherwise. Marshall should focus on the general election, because the left will try to use this to make noise. But we’re not buying it, and we doubt Kansas will either.
