Now Democrats Are Coming for Your BB Guns – What's Next?

So a California Democrat wants the ATF to treat a kid’s Red Ryder like a Glock. Representative Kevin Mullin’s bill would lump airguns in with regular firearms, meaning the same federal rules for purchase, transfer, and maybe registration. You read that right: a Daisy BB gun.

The party that talks about common sense gun safety has lost its sense of proportion. There’s nothing common sense about putting a $40 pellet rifle under the same umbrella as an AR-15. It treats a back-yard plinker as a deadly weapon. That’s not safety, that’s absurdity.

Meanwhile, actual violent crime and stolen firearms get less attention than a teenager’s first single-shot air rifle. Instead of focusing on repeat offenders or mental health, they go after a product that barely makes a dent in crime stats. It’s a solution looking for a problem. And it gives parents another reason to roll their eyes at Washington.

We expect this from the far left, but voters should watch who signs on. If they’ll regulate BB guns today, what’s next? Paintball guns? Slingshots? The goal isn’t safety, it’s control. Americans who don’t want the federal government in their garage should say so now.
