Progressive Journalist Just Went Full Racist on Hakeem Jeffries Over Israel

The irony here is almost too rich to write down. A journalist who built a brand on calling out bigotry decided the way to punish Hakeem Jeffries for supporting Israel was to reach for a racial slur. Not a policy critique. Not even the usual overheated rhetoric about foreign aid or occupation. A slur, aimed at a Black man, because he wouldn't fall in line on the Middle East. That's not activism. That's just racism wearing a press badge.

What makes this worse is how predictable the aftermath will be. Watch for the parsing, the "context matters" defenses, the sudden discovery that maybe this particular slur "isn't as bad as people think." We've seen this movie before. If a conservative commentator had said anything remotely similar about a progressive lawmaker, it would be a lead story on every network for a week, and rightly so. Jeffries isn't exactly a favorite around here, and his positions on Israel are his own to defend or explain.
