Same 2 Democrats Come To Rescue Republicans’ Agenda

It’s almost funny how predictable Washington has gotten. Republicans put real Iran sanctions on the table, and suddenly two Democrats are the ones walking over with the fire extinguisher. One of them even said the quiet part out loud: “My vote today gets us one step closer to enacting these sanctions.” Good. Say it plainly. The world does not get safer because Congress holds its feelings.

This is what happens when a policy is grounded in reality instead of hashtags. Iran is still funding proxies, stirring up trouble, and betting that America will blink. So when Democrats decide, even briefly, to act like grown-ups, we should take the win. If two Democrats are willing to help move a GOP agenda, that agenda probably isn’t “extreme.” It’s probably overdue.

And let’s not pretend this is just a feel-good bipartisan moment. It’s an indictment of the rest of their party, which has spent years treating sanctions like some rude interruption of diplomacy. The truth is sanctions are diplomacy, just with consequences attached. The left loves “accountability” until it’s aimed overseas at bad actors. Then it’s all hand-wringing and loopholes.

Republicans should bank this vote and keep pushing. Not because we need Democratic permission, but because the country needs clarity. If a couple of Democrats can find their backbone on Iran, the rest of Congress can stop playing games and get serious. Results beat talking points every time..
