Senate Democrats question if Kennedy struck a deal in vaccine lawsuit

Senate Democrats have apparently added paperwork forensics to their list of hobbies. The latest target is Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and the particular document is his ethics agreement. They’re demanding to know whether the Health and Human Services secretary struck some secret deal in a vaccine lawsuit, because they say they’ve spotted discrepancies. Read that again: discrepancies in an ethics form. Not evidence of wrongdoing. Not a conflict of interest with a name on it. Just something that looks off to a group of people who have spent four years trying to find any excuse to sink Kennedy’s confirmation.

This is what passes for oversight these days. Democrats can’t beat Kennedy on the merits, because the merits are killing them. He walks into hearings and talks plainly about vaccine injuries, FDA capture, and the unholy alliance between pharma and federal health agencies. That terrifies a party that takes millions in drug company donations and then pretends it’s blind to the side effects. So instead of debating vaccine policy, they nitpick his legal forms. It’s a smear campaign dressed up in parliamentary language.

One more thing worth noting. The lawsuit in question isn’t something Kennedy hid. He has said from day one that he would recuse himself from matters involving his former litigation work. The agreement was supposed to draw clear lines, and now Democrats are scouring it for loopholes because they assume everyone operates the way they do. They can’t imagine a public servant who means what he says. If they had actual proof of a shady bargain, they’d have leaked it already. Instead, they’ve sent a letter. That tells you everything.

Maybe Kennedy is guilty of procedural messiness. Maybe his paperwork wasn’t perfect. That’s a far cry from a deal with vaccine makers to soften his testimony. The only deal Kennedy struck is with the American people to get the unvarnished truth about their own health. If Senate Democrats want to challenge that, they should bring evidence, not insinuations. Otherwise, they’re just wasting the country’s time and proving once again that their problem with Kennedy isn’t ethics. It’s his message.
