Socialists are helping GOP campaigns heading into November

The Fox News poll showing 55% of voters view the Democratic Socialists of America unfavorably is a gift the GOP didn’t have to wrap itself. This isn’t some Washington consultant’s trick. It’s the party taking the left at its word and letting voters hear the echo. When your opponents openly campaign on defunding police and trashing the energy grid that keeps the lights on, pointing it out isn’t a smear—it’s a public service. The Democrats can’t complain about the spotlight when their own candidates keep walking into it.

We keep hearing from the left that this is all "distraction politics" from Republicans desperate for a culture war. But let’s look at who is actually doing the distracting. The Squad and their allies are the ones who spent two years in Congress arguing that American capitalism is the real enemy. They did it to themselves. The GOP is just the messenger, and the message is polling at 55% unfavorability because regular people—including plenty of independents—see the DSA platform as a threat to their paycheck and their neighborhood.

The smart play is on the table. Republicans in competitive districts should tie their Democratic opponents to the national socialist agenda every single day until November. Not with vague talk about “values,” but with specific votes: bail reform, open borders, green schemes that raise gas prices.
