Trump to Honor 9/11 Heroes at Pentagon and Other Key Events

The headline says Trump is going to honor 9/11 heroes at the Pentagon and other events. Good. That is where the country’s attention belongs this week: on the people who ran toward the smoke, not on the people who run toward a camera. Remembering 9/11 should look like gratitude, not theater.

But the actual “article” under that headline is basically an email pitch. No details. No schedule. No names of the heroes or families being recognized. Just “get the stories you need-to-know” and a promise that it’s from “the most powerful name in news.” If you’re going to invoke 9/11, do the work.

Trump showing up at the Pentagon matters because it’s a place where the loss is still physical. That building isn’t an abstraction, and neither are the firefighters, cops, medics, and Pentagon employees who lived it. If he’s honoring them, tell us who’s being honored and why. Let Americans see the faces and hear the stories, not just the brand.

We also don’t need another year where the media turns a solemn day into a referendum on what Trump “should” say, or how the optics land, or which side gets a clip. Cover the event straight. Let the heroes be the story. Stop selling newsletters and start reporting the news..
