‘Ungendered’ activist claims GLP-1s are ‘fascist’ and ‘genocide

If you’re looking for a sign that parts of the American left have finally floated off the map, you could do worse than a DSA-backed conference where someone stands up and calls GLP-1 drugs “fascist” and “genocide.” Not “overhyped.” Not “too expensive.” Not “we need better long-term data.” Genocide. That’s not a policy argument. It’s performance art.

GLP-1s are prescription medications that help a lot of people manage weight and blood sugar. They’re not compulsory. Nobody’s getting dragged to a clinic by the state and injected for the good of the collective. In the real world, the controversy is pretty straightforward: access, cost, supply, side effects, and whether insurers will cover them. But at this conference, the move is to treat personal health decisions as political violence. Everything becomes oppression if you say it loudly enough.

And notice how this lands. If you’re a normal person who has struggled with weight, or watched a family member get healthier on these drugs, you’re supposed to hear “genocide” and nod along? That’s insulting. It also scares people away from honest conversations about food, fitness, and medicine. The left loves to accuse everyone else of “misinformation,” then turns around and mainstreams the kind of language that makes serious public health debate impossible. They don’t want solutions. They want a villain.

Meanwhile, the same crowd that screams about “trust the experts” in every other context is suddenly treating a breakthrough class of drugs like a fascist plot because it complicates their ideology. We’ll take fewer lectures from Socialism 2026. People want affordable care, real choices, and doctors who tell the truth. Not activists inventing atrocities to win applause from a room full of radicals. Call it what it is: a meltdown, not a movement..
