WWE star Penta subtly pays tribute to Pac after wrestler's

Penta wrote "Pac" on his boot. No announcement, no video package, no social media campaign. Just a bit of tape or marker before walking to the ring and letting his work speak. That's wrestling in a nutshell, actually. For all the soap opera storylines and trash talk, the real messages get sent by what happens between the ropes. Or in this case, what's written on a boot.

Benjamin Satterley, known to fans as Pac, died at 40. Forty is young for anybody, but for a high-flyer like him, it feels especially cruel. He spent two decades throwing his body into turnbuckles and off ladders, all for the sake of entertainment. We can argue about how foolish that is, but we can't argue that it's fake. The bumps were real. The pain was real. And the tribute on Monday Night Raw was the same.

The spectacle of modern sports entertainment can be overproduced. The WWE is a corporate machine, careful with its images and its messaging. But this was raw in a way that had nothing to do with his ring name. A man honored his friend. A locker room mourned one of its own. That's something you can't script, and no amount of virtue signaling on a screen can replace it.

This country could use more of that instinct. Not the endless brainstorming sessions about how to properly memorialize someone, but the simple, unadorned gesture that says we were here together and that mattered. Penta didn't break character. He just reinforced why people watch. The show goes on, but not because nothing happened. It goes on because that's what the tough guys would want. RIP Pac.
