Yet another Dem ripped online for 'inventing racism' as lawmakers

Rep. Shontel Brown went online to warn that “lynchings are rising” in America. That is a loaded claim, and she knows it. Then the details came out, and the supposed “lynchings” she was pointing to had been widely debunked as suicides. That is not a minor mix-up. It is the kind of thing that lights a match in a dry room and then acts surprised when people start yelling.

This is the problem with the modern Democratic script on race: it rewards the biggest, scariest headline, not the careful truth. When a lawmaker takes tragedies that families are living through and repackages them as evidence for a political point, it’s not “raising awareness.” It’s turning grief into a talking point. And when the claim collapses, the damage doesn’t neatly reverse. You’ve still pumped fear into the bloodstream, and you’ve still taught people that every hard event must fit a pre-picked narrative.

If Brown has receipts for her claim, she should show them, clearly, and correct the record where she can’t. That’s the baseline for someone with a microphone and a vote. But too often we get the opposite: a viral accusation first, a fact-check later, and then a shrug when the story falls apart. Stop crying “lynching” without facts. It’s reckless. It’s insulting to real victims of actual racial terror, and it’s another reason regular Americans are tired of being managed by people who treat social media as their staff meeting.
