Our approach to commentary
How We See It
The facts are the starting point. This is where we explain our perspective on what they mean.
Why this section exists
News tells you what happened. Commentary explores why it matters, what trade-offs deserve attention, and which questions remain unanswered. How We See It gives readers a clearly identified NRT perspective without presenting that perspective as neutral reporting.
A perspective, not a replacement for the facts
Our commentary approaches the news through conservative principles: constitutional government, individual liberty, free markets, and accountability. Those principles frame our interpretation; they do not make our conclusions beyond debate.
The section is labeled separately from the news summary and outside reporting. Our judgments are not the views of the original publisher. Read the linked sources, consider other interpretations, and form your own conclusions.
How it is prepared
NRT uses AI-assisted drafting and automated editorial checks to prepare commentary. These checks are safeguards, not a guarantee of accuracy or a claim that every piece has received human editorial review. Interpretation can be mistaken, and developing stories can change.
Keep us accountable
If a claim is wrong, context is missing, or the distinction between fact and opinion is unclear, report a correction and read about our checks. Disagreement is welcome; factual accuracy remains essential.
Stay informed. Think independently. Seek the truth.
