California Democrats Want To Bring Back Racial Discrimination In

California lawmakers have spent decades trying to undo Prop 209, the voter-approved law that stops the state from picking favorites by race or sex. They keep putting measures on the ballot, and the people of California keep shooting them down. You would think that would count as a hint. Instead, the legislature is back at it again, looking for new ways to give government the power to discriminate.

The convenient excuse is "equity." But what they're really asking for is the green light to treat people differently based on the color of their skin. That's not fairness. It's the exact thing voters banned in 1996, and the left still can't accept that a majority of Californians, including plenty of Democrats, think it's wrong. It's telling that their biggest priority is racial quotas instead of any of that. The state's real problems go unfixed while they chase a social experiment that has already failed everywhere it's been tried. California Democrats are obsessed with bringing back discrimination. The voters know better. That's why they keep losing this fight.
