CCP Intelligence Official — Trained As a Sniper — Buys Building 650 Feet From White House

Six hundred and fifty feet. That's closer than most parking garages downtown, and now it's owned by a man the Daily Caller identifies as a trained sniper working inside Chinese intelligence. Somebody at a title company processed this purchase like it was a dentist buying a duplex. Nobody flagged it. Nobody asked why a foreign intelligence officer with weapons training wanted a rooftop line of sight on the building where the President of the United States lives and works.

This is the part that should bother people regardless of party. We have spent years arguing about TikTok data harvesting and Chinese balloons drifting over Montana, and meanwhile actual real estate transactions near federal facilities apparently sail through with zero scrutiny of who's buying and why. CFIUS exists to review foreign purchases that touch national security, but a private building near the White House evidently doesn't trip any wire unless someone happens to notice the buyer's résumé.

Beijing didn't do anything sneaky here. They just bought a building, in the open, using whatever LLC or shell structure made it look routine. That's the unsettling part. If this was legal and easy, it means the gap in our vetting isn't a loophole somebody exploited cleverly. It's just a door nobody bothered to lock.

Congress will hold a hearing, someone will call it "deeply concerning," and then everyone will move on until the next building sale nobody checked. The Secret Service and intelligence community need to explain, plainly, how a foreign intelligence official with sniper training ends up with sightlines on the White House Complex and whether that's about to change.
