The Daily Wire’s footage of James Talarico’s church isn’t a gotcha tape. It’s a confession. Ministers there doubted Jesus ever existed, slandered the Virgin Mary, and rejected the whole point of the crucifixion. This isn’t a doctrinal squabble between denominations. It’s a church that doesn’t believe in the gospel it’s named after. And Talarico, the Democratic Senate nominee, has been happy to wear the Christian label on the campaign trail.

Josh Howerton, senior pastor at Lakepointe Church, didn’t mince words. He called the mess out for what it is: blasphemy. When a megachurch pastor with six Dallas-area campuses has to explain basic Christianity to a candidate for U.S. Senate, something is deeply off. Talarico wants Texans to trust him with their values, but his own spiritual home can’t affirm the resurrection. That’s not faith. That’s a political costume.

The response from the left has been predictable: deflect, change the subject, attack the messenger. But this isn’t a hit job. It’s a man’s own church, on video, tearing down the very creeds he claims to hold. If Talarico can’t stand up for the basic facts of the Christian faith, why should voters believe he’ll stand up for anything else? He’s asking conservatives to believe he’s different.
