You can score 49 points and still be remembered for two guys throwing hands in the stands. That’s the part that sticks from this USC game, not the final, not the highlights, not the fireworks. A pair of Trojans fans decided the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was their personal boxing gym, and the phones came out like it was halftime entertainment.

We’re told to shrug this stuff off as “passion,” but it’s not. This isn’t school spirit, it’s grown-up stupidity. People bring kids to these games. People save up for tickets. They should not have to scan the row for an exit plan because someone can’t handle a bad call or a mouthy comment.

USC and the Coliseum don’t need a ten-part seminar on feelings. They need consequences that land. Toss them out fast. Ban them longer than they think is fair. Back the security staff when they step in, and don’t wait for a viral clip to decide it’s time to act. If you can’t behave, you don’t get to be there. It’s that simple.
