There’s something oddly reassuring about Liam Neeson, 74, calmly saying he’s probably got “a couple” more action movies left. Not a grand farewell tour. Not a tearful “last ride.” Just a working actor taking stock like the rest of us do. He’s not selling a myth, he’s doing the math.

The bigger hook here isn’t the punches or the car chases, though Neeson has made a late-career cottage industry out of both. It’s that “The Fix” is being framed around forgiveness and redemption, with Zachary Levi alongside him. Hollywood loves redemption stories when they’re abstract, safe, and aimed at everyone except the people it has spent years sneering at. Redemption only counts in this town when it comes with the right politics.

We’ll see if “The Fix” actually earns the themes it’s promising, or if it’s just another prestige wrapping on familiar beats. But we’re not mad at the pitch: an older man, still capable, still flawed, trying to make something right. That’s more relatable than the endless parade of invincible superheroes who never pay for anything. A little wear and tear on a character is not a bug, it’s the point.

And if Neeson wants to do “a couple” more action films, good. Let him. The culture has enough scolding and enough “messaging” already. Give people a story with consequences and a lead who doesn’t pretend he’s eternal. Then let the audience decide if the man’s got one more fight left.
