MI Candidate Who Begged Hasan Piker for a Show Appearance Hates

Begging for a guest spot on Hasan Piker’s Twitch stream is a strange way to court voters in Michigan’s 7th District, but it’s the deleted X post that tells you everything. William Lawrence, the Democrat hoping to represent you, called the nuclear family an “isolating, individualistic, violent way of organizing society.” That wasn’t a slip of the tongue. It’s the worldview he signed his name to before he remembered that normal people vote.

You don’t need a PhD in sociology to see what’s happening here. The nuclear family is how most of us learned to share, to sacrifice, and to show up for something bigger than our own feelings. It’s the original safety net, and it doesn’t require a government grant. Lawrence prefers the long-term stable co-op house, where presumably the rent is split six ways and everyone claps when you unload the dishwasher. That’s fine for a semester abroad. It’s not a civilization.

What’s telling is the deletion. He knows the politics of this are poison in a district that isn’t Ann Arbor. But the post is out there, and the damage is done. This is the left’s real agenda: treating the family like an outdated arrangement and replacing it with communal living arrangements that sound great in a dorm room and fall apart the first time someone loses a job. Lawrence can scrub his timeline, but voters in the 7th should remember that he wanted to be on Piker’s show for a reason. They don’t hire people to challenge them. They hire people to nod along.
