Anthony Fauci taking the Fifth in front of the Senate is one of those moments that should stop everyone cold, regardless of party. This is the man who spent two years telling Americans what to do with their bodies, their businesses, their kids' schools, and their holidays, and now, when asked to explain himself under oath, he invokes the constitutional right against self-incrimination. That's not a technicality. That's an admission that answering honestly might expose him to criminal liability. Bernie Moreno calling him Democrats' "hero" isn't just a jab, it's a fair description of how the man was treated for years, shielded from scrutiny while ordinary people lost jobs and businesses for questioning masking guidance that changed by the week.

The "lab rats" line stings because it's not far off.
