Podcaster Michael Knowles argues AOC’s egg freezing video ‘might as well have been a presidential campaign announcement’

Ocasio-Cortez filming her own egg-freezing process for Instagram is not exactly a private medical decision anymore. It's content. It also happens to remind eleven million followers that she exists, that she's young, that she's thinking about the future in a very personal way right as her party tries to figure out who its future actually is.

We don't need to speculate about her fertility timeline to notice the timing is convenient. The DSA wing of the party is ascendant, the old guard is aging out in real time, and here's Ocasio-Cortez putting her own life story on camera while staying studiously above the fray of primary politics. That's not an accident. That's discipline.

Maybe it really is just about eggs. But politicians rarely film themselves unless the footage is meant to do something later.
