Republicans Pouring Unprecedented Amounts Of Money Into Midterms

Republicans are pouring unprecedented amounts of money into states that should already be put away. Ohio. Montana. Florida. Seats the party used to win in its sleep are now playing host to constant polling and six-figure ad buys. We are told this is a sign of trouble, maybe even a red alert. We do not necessarily read it that way.

The honest read is that the other side has gone national in a way we have not fully matched until now. Democrats funnel cash into a single race like it is a pinky promise on the national debt, and if Republicans want to hold the line, they have to spend to match. That is not defeat. That is a defense budget, not a white flag. The map is bigger than it used to be. The cost of doing business went up.

But here is the part that should worry every conservative who reads a headline like this one: money does not cast a ballot, and it does not turn out your vote. All this cash only works if the base actually shows up. A voter who sits at home assuming the red state will do the job is exactly why seats become "must-defend" in the first place. The complacency, not the Democratic super PACs, is the real threat. Write the check, show up on Election Day, and we will not need to put Ohio on the list again.
